Connect for Water is partnering with the Neighborhood Association in Nuevo Amanecer to provide 120 water filters
The Neighborhood of Nuevo Amanecer is nestled in the province of Huarochirí, about an hour outside of Lima. The neighborhood is made up of 120 families in communal living units. Most of these homes have electricity, but no potable water, sanitation, or sewage.
The water in the region is brought in on trucks and tankers and, to the naked eye, looks like clean water. However, even though it’s free of dust and dirt, it can still be home to water borne illnesses that mean missed days from school, work, and more trips to the clinic.
Connect for Water is partnering with the Neighborhood Association in Nuevo Amanecer to provide 120 VF100 water filters to serve the families there, and to take part in the Peruvian government’s initiative to help prevent anemia and water borne illnesses in children under the age of 5.
